description: this beautiful home is located on a remote working property in Willalooka, just over the South Australian border from Victoria.

as there are no mains services to the site, the house operates entirely off-grid creating its own power, collecting its own water and disposing of its own waste.

the house has been designed using three modules. the front two modules contain the master bedroom laundry and main living areas, whilst the rear module contains the 3 children’s bedrooms and a second living area.

the design allows the home to expand and contract seamlessly depending on the number of occupants. this is achieved by a large sliding panel that closes off the children’s wing allowing the house to be zoned effortlessly .

the combination of spotted gum cladding with the expressed steel frame of the decking, as well as the integration of mt.gambier stone sourced from the property itself have created a naturally blended palette of materials that allows the house to sit perfectly in its surrounds.
