THINGS WE LOVE: SENSORY EXPERIMENTS

We love any excuse to celebrate design and innovation. And the Melbourne Design Week is no exception.

The ten-day event running from 14-24 March 2019 is an initiative created by the National Gallery of Victoria (NGV) and the Victorian Government and aims to promote Melbourne as one of the design capitals of the world. The 10-day event will offer talks, tours, workshops and industry events to help strengthen, support and promote the design industry.

One such event that we’re excited about is Sensory Experiments by Inscapes Projects.

The live interactive experience will take place inside the Norla Dome at The Mission to Seafarers Victoria in Docklands and will encourage you to consider your (re)connection with self, others and nature.

In this fully immersive experience, you’ll be presented a progression of sensorial confrontations. From internationally renowned chef Justin James (Executive Chef of Vue de monde and Iki Jime and previously of Eleven Madison Park & Noma Copenhagen) who will reignite your sense of taste to floral artist Hattie Molloy who will interrogate your sensual perception. Absorb and participate in live-choreographed performances and be aurally challenged by the masters behind the acoustics at the Sydney Opera House.

Your emotional and physical responses will leave a digital imprint as the results are transmitted in real time and form a Manifesto for Sensory Intelligence.
