Qbuild Mmc Housing Program In Partnership With Modscape

We’re excited to announce Modscape as a participant in QBuild’s Modern Methods of Construction (MMC) Housing Program to address the immediate housing needs in Queensland. This initiative is aimed at providing affordable and sustainable housing to Queenslanders, from Essential Government Workers through to those who are struggling to find a place to call home.

The Queensland Government’s commitment to addressing the housing crisis in the state has led to the prototyping within the QBuild MMC Housing Program.  This program is aimed at building approximately 100 Essential Worker Homes across regional Queensland using modern methods of construction (MMC). The program is expected to provide valuable insights into how MMC can be used to deliver affordable and sustainable housing in regional areas.

Modscape has been engaged to deliver eight of the homes for the initial prototyping phase of the MMC Housing Program. These three-bedroom, two-bathroom homes have been designed and constructed in Modscape’s factory ready for delivery to site for installation in just 15 weeks.

Two of the homes will be built in partnership with the QBuild Rapid Accommodation & Apprenticeship Centre (RAAC), to support the skills and experience uplift of QBuild’s apprentice and trade staff.

With the housing crisis continuing to be a significant challenge for Queensland, initiatives like the QBuild MMC Housing Program are an exciting opportunity for Modscape to demonstrate the potential of modular construction to deliver affordable, sustainable and high-quality housing solutions. We look forward to seeing the positive impact that the MMC Housing Program will have on the lives of Queenslanders in need of housing.
